Method and scope

This is a data-based overview, not a hands-on service test. We did not buy, install, or test a Roamix eSIM. The analysis covers all 18,793 active Roamix plan records available in the eSIM Spotter catalog on August 20, 2026. The latest successful site-wide catalog refresh finished on August 18, while the Roamix provider record was last updated on August 13. The site currently marks the catalog as stale, so every price below is a dated comparison rather than a live quote.

We checked plan type, destination list, data allowance, validity, price, and the structured 5G and hotspot fields. We did not assess activation speed, connection quality, latency, customer support, refunds, or the final checkout flow. What stands out in the Roamix catalog

Roamix has one of the largest catalogs we track: 18,793 records covering 188 countries. Most of that size comes from many combinations of data allowance and validity. The spread is meaningful. The UAE example costs almost three times as much per GB as Spain or the United Kingdom. Roamix may be inexpensive for one destination and ordinary or expensive for another. Start with the full Roamix plan catalog, then compare the same allowance and validity rather than relying on a single headline price.

Why the catalog contains so many plans

Roamix combines several variables: destination, total or daily allowance, and validity. A daily package can appear in versions lasting 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90, 180, or 365 days. That creates genuine flexibility, but it also creates thousands of records that look similar at first glance.

Daily allowances need extra care. If a name says 3 GB per day, check what happens after the daily amount is used. The structured catalog does not tell us whether service stops, slows down, or resets according to a particular time zone. It also does not convert the daily allowance into a guaranteed total for the whole trip. The exact product terms should settle those questions before checkout.

Very small 100 MB packages start at low totals, including $0.05 in the stored data. They are not realistic substitutes for a normal travel plan and should not be used to advertise the brand as starting at five cents. For maps, messaging, and routine browsing, compare practical packages of at least 1 GB and enough validity for the trip.

Local, regional, and global coverage

Local plans account for about 93 percent of Roamix records. They are the cleanest choice for a single-country trip because the destination scope is easy to understand. Regional plans can be more convenient for a route through several countries, but two packages with similar names may include different markets. Global plans are present, though 39 records are a small part of the catalog.

Country coverage in a regional product can also affect comparisons. A multi-country plan may appear on the page for every included destination. That does not make it local. Check the coverage badge and country list on the exact row, especially when planning border crossings.

5G, hotspot, and unlimited fields

Our feed tags 12,113 of 18,793 Roamix records as 5G capable. That is a plan-level field, not a guarantee that a phone will connect to 5G. The device, local partner network, location, congestion, and roaming conditions still matter. The remaining records should not be assumed to have 5G unless the exact terms say so.

Hotspot support is unknown on every Roamix record in our feed. Unknown does not mean blocked. It means the catalog lacks a reliable positive or negative field. Anyone who needs to tether a laptop should confirm hotspot use for the exact plan.
